The Fab Four of British Royal Officially Split!

The Duke and Duchess of Susex, Meghan and Harry are formally splitting from the Royal Foundation, the body that co-ordinates their charitable work with William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It was announced back in June that Meghan and Harry would be leaving the Royal Foundation, with a statement on the organisation's website reading: "Later this year The Royal Foundation will become the principal charitable and philanthropic vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will establish their own new charitable foundation with transitional operating support from The Royal Foundation.

The big change marks a "new chapter" rather than a schism between the royals. "This allows the Sussexes to do things exactly how they want," said a palace source.
"These changes are designed to best complement the work and responsibilities of Their Royal Highnesses as they prepare for their future roles, and to better align their charitable activity with their new households," a statement from Kensington Palace read.

So far, the Sussexes have moved out of Kensington Palace and into Windsor's Frogmore Cottage, created their own official Instagram account, and started building their own staff. Last week, it was announced that the couple just hired Karen Blackett as the first trustee of the Sussex Royal Foundation.

The royals were dubbed the Fab Four after taking to the stage at their first and only Royal Foundation Forum in London in February last year.
At the time, Harry said that “working as a family does have its challenges,” but insisted that “we’re stuck together for the rest of our lives.”

Since 2018, the charity has been known as The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
But it will be renamed the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The charitable arm was originally known as The Royal Foundation when it was founded in 2009 by William and Harry. Kate joined after she wed William in 2011. When Meghan joined as patron of the foundation after she was welcomed into the royal family last year, the name was amended to The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Now, it has been changed to The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, according to documents published by Companies House.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have officially made The Royal Foundation their own after previously sharing the charity with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Now that Harry and Meghan have started their own charitable vehicle, William and Kate renamed the organization to The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

According to the documents, the name change was made official on Aug. 8.
